Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship Leaderboard Heading into the Weekend:
After a T35 finish at the Puerto Rico Open last time out, Justin Suh came out firing in hopes of capturing his first PGA TOUR victory at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship. So far so good as he shot a round one 4-under 68 at Corales Golf Course and followed that up with a 3-under 69 in round two. Suh is tied at the top of the leaderboard along with Rafael Campos and Fabrizio Zanotti who also shot 7 under. Joel Dahmen also got off to a fast start at Corales Golf Course which featured a bogey-free round on Thursday. He currently is T4 on the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship leaderboard along with Tyler Duncan. After a solo 13th place finish at the Qatar Masters over on the European Tour last time out, Thomas Pieters came to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with plenty of confidence and it showed during the opening rounds. He sits along with Michael Gligic, Andrew Yun, Roberto Castro and Stephan Jaeger at T6 on the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship leaderboard heading into the weekend. Sepp Straka is building off his made cut at The Honda Classic last week and shot 4-under par thus far. He is joined by Sam Ryder, Thomas Detry, Mark Anderson, Tim Wilkinson, Chesson Hadley, Danny Willett, Peter Uihlein and Aaron Baddeley at T12 on the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship leaderboard. Brandon Wu, Brandon Hagy, Lucas Herbert, Camilo Villegas, Rafa Cabrera Bello and J.B. Holmes all failed to make the cut at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship but will at least be able to spend the rest of their weekend in the Caribbean. More scoring should be in the weekend forecast at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship, so all signs point to a another fantastic finish in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Stat Boy’s Weekend Warriors for the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship:
Thomas Pieters – $10,500: Thomas Pieters is currently T6 on the leaderboard headed into the weekend at Corales Golf Course and makes for a great Weekend Golf play since he has the third highest implied chance of winning the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship (9.80%). In other words, Pieters is “expected” to remain in contention over the weekend in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and stay at the top of the leaderboard. That also means that a particularly good Weekend Golf fantasy score would be on the way too.
Charles Howell III – $10,000: Charles Howell III had little issues during his first two rounds in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic as he is currently averaging 72.22 % greens in regulation with a 1.962 putting average thus far. He is enjoying the test at Corales Golf Course and should see improved putting in rounds three and four. CHIII currently sits T21 on the leaderboard but is more than capable of putting together a couple of low rounds over the weekend at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship.
Justin Suh – $9,500: Justin Suh continues to impress on the golf course and currently sits in a tie for first place at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship. His ball striking has been good having averaged 75.00% greens in regulation so far. Suh’s putting should remain steady over the weekend after putting well during the opening rounds (1.667 putting average). He is not the least intimidated by Corales Golf Course and has a 13.95% implied chance of winning the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship.
Joel Dahmen – $9,000: Joel Dahmen regained his great form at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship after a stretch of missed cuts on the PGA TOUR. He clearly has a good grasp on how to attack Corales Golf Course because his tee-to-green thus far game has been outstanding having averaged 69.44% greens in regulation. Dahmen’s putter is heating up too as he has a 1.640 putting average so far. He currently sits T4 on the leaderboard and will hopefully remain in contention while racking up some Weekend Golf fantasy points at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship.
Also consider:
Charley Hoffman – $9,800
Sam Ryder – $9,400
Thomas Detry – $9,300
Stephan Jaeger – $9,100
Fabrizio Zanotti – $8,500: Fabrizio Zanotti is currently a 36-hole leader at Corales Golf Course after shooting 7-under par during the first two rounds. Zanotti averaged 66.67% greens in regulation during the opening rounds while also gaining strokes on the greens (1.750 putting average). He has made some nice runs over the weekend before during his European Tour career and one could be in order in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic while he is making a visit on the PGA TOUR.
Sepp Straka – $8,000: Sepp Straka’s ball striking was phenomenal during the opening rounds of the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship (72.22% greens in regulation). He currently sits T12 on the leaderboard while averaging 304.8 yards in driving distance and a 1.808 putting average. If Straka can maintain his tee-to-green game and get better with the flat stick, then he could be in for a nice weekend at Corales Golf Course and hopefully threaten to win in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Also consider:
Brice Garnett – $8,300
Danny Willett – $8,100
Tyler Duncan – $7,900: Tyler Duncan is currently T4 after 36 holes headed into the weekend at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship and makes for a fantastic Weekend Golf play because he has a great implied chance of winning the tournament still (6.82%). Simply put, oddsmakers like Duncan’s chances over the weekend and should keep his outstanding tee-to-green game working (80.56% greens in regulation). That also should translate into an especially good Weekend Golf fantasy score at Corales Golf Course.
Rafael Campos – $7,100: Rafael Campos had his tee-to-green game working during the opening rounds of the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship. He averaged 75.00% greens in regulation and while also putting well during rounds one and two (1.778 putting average). It was just a matter of time before he started taking advantage of these weak PGA TOUR fields at courses that suit his game. He has a 7.50% implied chance of winning the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship and with only a $7,100 salary, Campos just might be too good to pass up for Weekend Golf.
Michael Gligic – $6,500: Michael Gligic is currently T6 at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship heading into the weekend and shapes up to be a chalky, but worthy Weekend Golf play over on DraftKings. He is clearly playing quality golf right now at Corales Golf Course after shooting 5-under par thus far. Gligic has run hot throughout tournaments before and with a solid all-around game (63.89% greens in regulation & 1.696 putting average), he should be able to keep pace with the top of the leaderboard and two more quality rounds should be expected during Weekend Golf.
Also consider:
Adam Schenk – $7,900
Graeme McDowell – $7,000
Good luck.
