Stat Boy’s Weekend Warriors – BMW Championship

BMW Championship Leaderboard Heading into the Weekend:

The BMW Championship has proved to be a much more difficult test than THE NORTHERN TRUST last week.  Only two players are under par through the opening rounds with just two more are sitting at even.  One of the players at even is Dustin Johnson.  After a T2 finish at the PGA Championship and destroying the field at THE NORTHERN TRUST last week, he was hoping to carry that momentum into the BMW Championship and earn the top spot heading into the TOUR Championship next week.  DJ is looking the part so far at the BMW Championship when he shot a round one 1-over 71 at Olympia Fields Country Club (North) and followed that up with a solid performance in round two when he fired an 1-under 69.  DJ will enter the weekend trailing by one stroke after 36 holes at the BMW Championship.  After heading back home to figure out some issues with his clubs all appears to be in good working order after Rory McIlroy shot even par on Thursday and an 1-under 69 on Friday.  Patrick Cantlay also got off to a fast start at Olympia Fields Country Club (North) and sits with McIlroy at the top of the BMW Championship leaderboard.  Hideki Matsuyama and his solid all-around game finds himself in the mix in Olympia Fields, Illinois.  He sits along with Dustin Johnson at T3 on the BMW Championship leaderboard heading into the weekend.  Tony Finau and Billy Horschel both bounced back after missing the cut at THE NORTHERN TRUST last week and sits at T5 the BMW Championship leaderboard along with Adam Scott, Louis Oosthuizen and Brendon Todd.  Kevin Kisner remains hot after his solid outings at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, PGA Championship, Wyndham Championship and THE NORTHERN.  He is joined by Bubba Watson and Mackenzie Hughes at T10 on the BMW Championship leaderboard.  Not much of scoring is on tap over the weekend at the BMW Championship but all signs point to an entertaining finish at Olympia Fields Country Club (North).

Round 1 Scoring Avg:  72.826

Round 2 Scoring Avg:  72.725
