Noren Lights Up Butterfield Bermuda Championship, Claims Commanding 36-Hole Lead

Alex Noren has ignited a fireworks display at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship’s opening rounds. A phenomenal 10-under 61 in the first round, followed by a classy 5-under 66 in the second, propels him into the weekend as the undisputed 36-hole leader. With a two-stroke advantage and a formidable 32.25% implied winner probability, Noren is the maestro orchestrating this golfing symphony.

Adam Scott, a pre-tournament favorite, lived up to expectations with a stellar 10-under par performance on Thursday and Friday. Currently at T12 after Friday’s round in Southampton, Bermuda, Scott keeps the competition buzzing.

Ryan Moore is stealing the spotlight at Port Royal Golf Course, flaunting a seamless tee-to-green game and a putter on fire. Tied for 2nd place with an impressive 13-under par score on the leaderboard, Moore is a contender with flair.

Brendon Todd left the crowd in awe at Port Royal Golf Course, firing an impressive 11-under par. Positioned at T6, Todd is on a quest to reclaim victory on the PGA TOUR, and at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

As for Thomas Detry, Doug Ghim, MJ Daffue, C.T. Pan, and Nick Dunlap, the opening rounds posed a tough challenge, denying them a weekend tee time. Nevertheless, Southampton, Bermuda promises a weekend adorned with partly to mostly cloudy skies, embracing the golf course with typical wind patterns. Brace yourself for an exhilarating conclusion, as Weekend Golf scoring takes center stage.

Stat Boy’s Weekend Warriors for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship:

Adam Scott – $10,500:  Adam Scott had two great rounds in Southampton, Bermuda and overall, he is currently averaging +2.65 strokes gained total at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.  He is enjoying the test at Port Royal Golf Course and should remain in contention during rounds three and four.  Scott is currently T12 and with proven track record on the PGA TOUR, two low rounds over the weekend should be awaiting.

Brendon Todd – $10,400:  Brendon Todd showed solid form during his opening rounds in Southampton, Bermuda when he shot 11-under par at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.  He demonstrated a good grasp on how to attack Port Royal Golf Course as he averaged +3.15 strokes gained total.  He will likely remain in contention over the weekend while also racking up some Weekend Golf fantasy points at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

Alex Noren – $9,800:  Alex Noren is currently the 36-hole leader as he shot a total of 15-under par at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship so far.  His ball-striking and short game have been excellent having averaged +5.15 strokes gained total.  Noren is making the most of his visit to Southampton, Bermuda and has a good chance to win if he can keep his complete game working at Port Royal Golf Course.

Akshay Bhatia – $9,700:  Akshay Bhatia continues to golf at a high level with his tee-to-green working and his putter also doing its job (+3.15 SG: T).  After Friday’s round at Port Royal Golf Course, his implied chance of winning Butterfield Bermuda Championship is 8.08%.  In other words, Bhatia is projected to maintain his current scoring pace over the weekend in Southampton, Bermuda and remain in the mix.  That also means that a particularly good Weekend Golf fantasy score would be on the way too.

Also consider:

Taylor Pendrith – $9,400

Mark Hubbard – $9,100

Ben Griffin – $9,000

Ryan Moore – $8,000:  Ryan Moore’s tee-to-green game was outstanding during the first two rounds of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship (+4.15 SG: T).  He is currently T2 on the leaderboard while gaining ground on the field with his putting.  If Moore can maintain his tee-to-green game and keep his flatstick rolling, then he could be in for two nice rounds at Port Royal Golf Course over the weekend.

Matti Schmid – $8,000:  Matti Schmid is currently T6 as of Friday evening and should be feeling confident about his game.  He shot a total of 11-under par during the first two rounds while averaging +3.15 strokes gained total at Port Royal Golf Course Thursday and Friday.  Schmid made a nice run recently over the weekend on the DP World Tour so another one at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship should not be out of the question.

Also consider:

Vince Whaley – $8,900

Davis Riley – $8,600

Dylan Wu – $8,500

Stewart Cink – $7,600:  Stewart Cink is T6 at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship as of Friday evening and his $7.6k salary sets him up to be a worthy Weekend Golf lineup selection over on DraftKings.  He is clearly playing quality golf right now at Port Royal Golf Course after shooting 11-under par there thus far.  Cink had a fantastic tee-to-green performance and his flatstick was working as well (+3.15 SG: T).  If he can maintain his tee-to-green and keep sinking putts, then two rounds in the 60s for Weekend Golf should be on the way.

Satoshi Kodaira – $7,300:  Satoshi Kodaira had his whole bag working during the opening rounds of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.  He averaged +4.15 strokes gained total while golfing at Port Royal Golf Course.  He is T2 and has a respectable implied chance of winning in Southampton, Bermuda (5.93%) so with only a $7,300 salary, Kodaira is difficult to pass up for Weekend Golf.

Ryan Brehm – $6,200:  Ryan Brehm is T2 at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship and makes for a solid Weekend Golf value play due to his fair implied chance of winning the tournament still (4.01%) compared to others in the $6k salary range.  Simply put, oddsmakers think Brehm will hang around at the top of the leaderboard over the weekend at Port Royal Golf Course.  He simply needs to maintain his tee-to-green game and stay hot with the putter (+4.15 SG: T) to make that happen.  That would also translate into a good Weekend Golf fantasy score in Southampton, Bermuda.

Also consider:

Austin Smotherman – $7,800

Camilo Villegas – $7,100

Doc Redman – $6,900

Good luck.
