3M Open Leaderboard Heading into the Weekend:
Looking to bounce back after a terrible missed cut at the Memorial Tournament, tournament favorite Dustin Johnson only lasted one round at TPC Twin Cities. After his round one 7-over 78, DJ sited a “back injury” and withdrew from the 3M Open. His good buddy, Brooks Koepka, made to through two rounds but also will not see the weekend after missing the cut by a single stroke. Along with Koepka, Tommy Fleetwood and Paul Casey also failed to make the cut at the 3M Open. Tony Finau however remained hot after his solo 8th place finish last week at the Memorial Tournament. Severing ties with his longtime caddie has clearly not hurt his chances this week in Blaine, Minnesota. After firing a 6-under 66 on Thursday he backed that up with a 5-under 67 on Friday. Defending champion, Matthew Wolff, went bogey free in the second round and will enter the weekend tied with Cameron Davis in sixth place. Harris English continues to display an impressive tee-to-green game and now his putting is heating up at TPC Twin Cities. He currently sits with four other golfers in tie for 12th place. Richy Werenski and Michael Thompson both shot twelve under par during the opening rounds and currently sit atop of the 3M Open leaderboard. All signs point to another entertaining finish at the 3M Open over the weekend.
Round 1 Scoring Avg: 70.426
Round 2 Scoring Avg: 70.730
