Recommended by Fantasy Golf Insider as a sleeper pick last week at The Players, Kevin Kisner delivered a runner-up finish and helped our members win money, thus he earns the very prestigious honor of the Fantasy Focus Player of the week. Not sure what is more satisfying for him, that honor or the $880,000 paycheck he took home.

Kisner showed a glimpse of his ability with his runner-up performance at the RBC Heritage a few weeks ago, but remained under just about eveybody’s radars last week, and we are sure glad he did. On Draftkings, Kisner was available for a measly $6,400 so to say he outperformed his price is a severe understatement. He really played outstanding golf down the stretch and it took a miraculous effort by Rickie Fowler to outduel him for the championship.

Kisner was born in Aiken, South Carolina. He played college golf at the golfing hotbed of the University of Georgia and was a member of their 2005 NCAA Division I Championship team alongside Chris Kirk and Brendon Todd. After graduating in 2006, he turned professional.

Kisner played on the mini-tours from 2007 to 2009, winning three times and played in six Nationwide Tour events in 2009. He played the Nationwide Tour full-time in 2010, winning once at the Mylan Classic. He finished the year 11th on the money list and earned his 2011 PGA Tour card.

Kisner failed to earn enough money on the PGA Tour in 2011 to retain his card but finished T-11 at qualifying school to earn his card for 2012. He again failed to retain his card, finishing 167th on the money list, and missed earning a card in qualifying school by one stroke. He returned to Web.com Tour in 2013 and won the Chile Classic in March. He finished 13th on the 2013 Web.com Tour regular season money list to earn his 2014 PGA Tour card.

In 2014, Kisner made 17 cuts in 26 events played with six Top 25s and three Top 10s. The highlights included a T6 at Wells Fargo Championship, T9 at the RBC Canadian Open, and T8 at the Wyndham Championship.

This season Kisner has made 11 cuts in 17 events played, including four Top 25s and three Top 10s. He currently ranks 118th in driving distance, 36th in driving accuracy, 82nd in greens in regulation, 50th in Strokes Gained Tee-To-Green, 84th in Strokes Gained Putting, and 48th in Total Strokes Gained.

Kisner married his wife Brittany, in 2013 and had their first child, Kathleen Grace, in 2014, three days before he played in his first U.S. Open tournament.

He heads into this week at the Wells Fargo Championship with a lot of momentum and we like him to follow up on his T6 at Quail Hollow last year. He is not going to be as overlooked or underpriced this week however.
