Jeff’s Hardcore Core- Wyndham Championship
What a fun week at the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities last week. I took my kids out there on Wednesday for the Pro-Am so they could meet the players, take pictures, and load up on autographs to add to their collection. I then went with my daughter on Friday to walk the course and follow some groups. We always get out to the course early to watch the opening tee time, which was 6:45. It is our favorite time out there because we are basically the only ones on the course for an hour or so. Despite the 80+ degree temperatures we ended up walking 36 holes and spent the entire day out there. It is such a fun course and my daughter and I have such a fun time together following the guys on my DK rosters and rooting them on. Luckily for me she wants to spend so much time with her Dad and loves hanging out watching golf.
We move to the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club this week, a course that has been played since 2008. It is the last event before the playoffs begin, so a lot at stake for certain players this week. Just like last year TPC Southwind will be hosting the first round of the playoffs next week. The Top 70 guys in the FedEx Cup standings will be playing at TPC Southwind. Then the BMW the week after, culminating with the Tour Championship at East Lake the week after that. I cannot believe how fast these years fly by.
Zach was able to see this course in person a few years ago so he will be able to share real specifics about it, but it is a course that I feel real comfortable with and one that FGI has had success targeting the correct type of player that does well here over the years. I hope you are getting geared up for the playoffs as they should be a ton of fun. Best of luck this week Team FGI!
