Jeff’s Hardcore Core- The Rocco Forte Open (European Tour Package)
My strategy last week was to fade the only two recognizable names for the masses in the field, Gouveia and Trevor Fisher for the sole reason that their ownership would be through the roof. I was correct in my ownership projections as Gouveia was owned by 23% in the $3 and a whopping 50% in the $300. Fisher was just as popular at 41% in the $3 and 30% in the $300. The Gouveia fade worked wonderfully as he missed the cut and the Fisher fade turned out ok as he produced 75.5 DK points. Our core was solid with only three of the 12 missing the cut. Pavon took 3rd at only $7,300. Foster placed T6 at $7,300, and Rock took T12 at $8,400 all led the charge for the core. I was able to cash in most GPPs, although the GPPs were so small on DK that I did not enter many teams, so I did not have deep exposure to the core which hurt and I was only able to min cash.
This week we have another weakfish field, but next week that will change on the European Tour as we have the BMW PGA Championship which will have a very strong field. For now however we just have smaller contests on DK and a lesser field that we will have to nail our core on a minimal number of teams.
Best of luck to all of Team FGI
