Jeff’s Hardcore Core- The Olympics
My column will be more brief this week than usual, because I am on vacation and in a place where internet is a rare commodity. I have been able to find a spot to be able to conduct my research as normal, I just do not have the time write up all the details on each player. Be sure to consult Zach’s column for the details on the course, because we do have some history and events played here to work off of.
Some of the tougher pricing I have seen on Draftkings since I can remember. No $5k range this week as the lowest price is $6,000. Not only that, but the $6k range is not nearly as strong as what we have seen for the elevated events this year. I have made the commitment to roster Scottie Scheffler every week this season and it has obviously been the correct move. This week however is easily the toughest week to own Scottie with the pricing structure and available low dollar options. It is really the first thing you need to decide this week – roster Scottie -or- do not roster Scottie. If you own him at $12,500, you are relegated to only $7,500 per player to complete your roster. There are a few options that I like in the low $7k-$6k range, but the problem is, much of our competition is likely going to like them as well, making lineup builds with Scottie very similar. I am begrudgingly not going with Scottie this week. I might get burned if he runs away with gold, but I think it is the correct strategic move in GPPs. There are players in my player pool in the low dollar range that I think are the best options in case you did want to own Scottie this week.
