Jeff’s Hardcore Core- The Masters

Ladies and gentleman the time has come for the most wonderful week of the year. The Masters is so much better than Christmas (especially since I have to spend Christmas small talking with the in-laws and eating over-cooked,dried up ham). This week I will sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds, and hopefully some big GPP wins. Zachary was fortunate enough to experience Augusta in person last year and hopefully I will as well some day, but for now my multi-screen coverage from Directv will suffice.

Before we get into The Masters we will recap the two round practice for the worlds best, I mean the Shell Houston Open. Of course I am referring to the top players in the field putting very lackluster performances (Spieth, Scott, Stenson, Reed, Walker, Bello, etc). It is impossible for me to believe that all of these guys were 100% committed to playing four rounds of golf and put up such horrible performances.

Fortunately, we had Fowler in the Core along with some others who had nice performances to help salvage some of our lineups. A special congratulations to FGI member sbrew11 who won the quarter arcade contest on Draftkings. No matter your bankroll, the process is the same and if you stick to it and work hard good things will happen regardless of the dollar buy-in.

I haven’t agonized over GPP strategy and roster composition this much since I had two entries in the Draftkings Fantasy Golf World Championship two years ago. I have gone back and forth so many times trying to make the most critical decision we have on our hands this week and that is to go really strong on Dustin Johnson or to completely fade Dustin Johnson. This one decision will impact how we build our rosters and his results will dictate the success of all of our lineups.

I feel really good about my strategy, roster composition, and core of players this week. I will discuss all of it now.
