Jeff’s Hardcore Core- Sony Open
The PGA is back after a few week hiatus and we begin as we normally do in Hawaii. The difference however is that we are not starting on Maui, which frankly is throwing me off a bit. For the past decade we have kicked off the year at Kapalua, which for most of the time was the Tournament of Champions event. This year however, they did not hold that event so we go straight to the Sony Open on the island of Oahu.
One of the things that has helped us in the past is targeting guys playing on Maui first and then heading to the Sony. Without that this year we have a ton of uncertainty about everybody’s form. We will have to rely on tournament history and course fit to try and identify our core players this week.
Hawaii golf is a super fun way to kick off the season as play goes later into the evening which is fun.
Best of luck Team FGI!
