Jeff’s Hardcore Core- Shriners Open

After two weeks of small-field, no cut events, we return to the normal sized field this week with your normal Friday cut sweats that make DFS golf so great. Last week was a bit of a disappointment, as we had a lot of guys produce value for their price, we also had a bunch that didn’t. Guys like Rory (4th), Noren (12th), Grillo (11th), Knox (9th), and Wood/Lowry (23rd) all did well. However guys like Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson, Kim, and Kisner all really under-performed badly. Ultimately, we did not have Matsuyama, Berger, or Stenson in our core, and that alone would eliminate any possibility of winning a large-field GPP. This week for the Shriners, remember we are putting more emphasis on guys who will make the cut. Certainly we need upside to win large-field GPPs, but we need to get six through the cut first and be in position come the weekend. I will rely heavily on the model this week, as we have a good track record for course history and statistics. There are some guys that will not rank highly in the model however, and those are guys who are new to the PGA and you will see the ones I like below.
