Jeff’s Hardcore Core- Quicken Loans National

Overall a good week for the Hardcore Core considering the carnage that took place at Oakmont last week. 13 out of the 17 made the cut, with some real surprises being the ones who missed for us (Sneds, Reed, Matsuyama, and Rory). All eight of the lowest priced guys on Draftkings in the Core made the cut, with some really great performances. Obviously fading DJ did not work, and without him you would not have been able to win a large field tournament, for that I am sorry. We will continue to work hard, and implement strategies that will give you a strong chance at a large field, big money event.

This week for the Quicken Loans National, it is only a 120 player field, so a higher percentage of guys will make the cut and for that reason we need to think about trying to roster multiple guys who have the opportunity for a Top 5 finish, maybe a win. However, the upper tier of players this week is not very dominant, so it is hard to determine who has the best opportunity to win this week. I will be looking closely at form this week and those type of players that fit well statistically at Congressional. In particular, I like the longer guys off the tee this week, preferably who can score on Par 4s and Par 5s. We go back to individual hole points being big on Draftkings, so the birdie makers are very important. I think this is one of the more difficult weeks to predict ownership, but there are still a few guys who I believe will go under-owned and for that reason they appear in the Core. You will see that I have a lot of guys in the middle range this week, intentionally. This past weekend, I did not think I would own any Rickie Fowler this week, because his form is so bad. However after a lot of thought, I am going to include him in my core. He has proved on so many occasions that he can snap out of poor form and literally win an event. This might not be the one, but talent wise he is heads and shoulders above the field and if he gets some momentum early he could lap the field. I think 20-25% exposure will be enough to be slightly overweight on him this week and if he pops you might be rostering the tournament winner. Best of luck to all of you this week in all your GPPS. Remember Draftkings has their $3 GPP with $100k first prize this week, which would be awfully sweet to take down!
