Jeff’s Hardcore Core- Portugal Masters (European Tour Package)
The KLM Open stayed in line with the bizarre happenings on the European Tour last week as Romain Wattel was victorious and Austin Connelly who had been miserable 3 of his past 4 tournaments was able to finish runner-up. I personally ended up having quite a few teams with 6/6 make it through the cut, but because nobody could do much after that, I ended up only min-cashing them. Out of the 12 guys in the Core last week 9 of them made the cut, which is exceptional, especially considering the smaller cutline and the volatility from week to week, but the best finish from anybody in the core was T25. No matter if you have all six get through the cut, not having any high finishes is not going to get us to where we want to be. Although min-cashing is fine (better than losing) our goal each week is to land in the Top 3, because that is where the majority of the prize pool lands. It doesn’t take too many times we need to hit those to be profitable playing GPPs, but we need to get there.
This week the Euro Tour travels to Portugal and we have some big names there like Pieters, Lowry, and Olesen. We will continue to see more and more big names migrate over to the European Tour in the coming weeks as the Race to Dubai heats up. This should make for some excellent contests, we just need to cross our fingers that Draftkings can keep their heads out of you know where and realize it.
