Jeff’s Hardcore Core- NFL Week 9
Here we are week 9 and the trade deadline brought us some activity, which is unusual for the NFL. The two most significant trades for fantasy purposes were Kelvin Benjamin going to the Bills and Jay Ajayi going to the Eagles. I think the Ajayi deal will be the most impactful as he is now on a contending team with a hot offense. The Eagles have said they will have a committee backfield with Legarrette Blount, but I am not buying it. I predict it will be more of a 75/25% mix, because they did not bring in Ajayi to split time. I like Ajayi’s prospects for the rest of the year. I think Benjamin will have about the same production going forward as he did in Carolina. He goes to a run first team who does not throw the ball down the field at all. However, the Bills schedule the rest of the way includes a ton of putrid pass defenses on it. I will have no hesitation rostering either one of these guys in GPPs the rest of the season if the match-up dictates.
Last week I was having a hard time building lineups that I truly felt comfortable with. A combination of tough Draftkings pricing and lack of low priced options with positive match-ups made me stretch to question mark players in several spots. This week I am feeling much more comfortable building rosters and I am not sure if that means that my rosters are going to be on the chalkier side or not. Unlike last week though I have a lot of low dollar guys that I like this week and will include them in my core.
