Jeff’s Hardcore Core- NFL Week 7
Having played DFS for over four years now, I have experienced weeks that are very good and weeks that are very bad and I can tell you it is far easier to do research and write a column after weeks like last week, where my core does so well, than it is the other way around. I just feel extra energized, motivated, and confident and overall fired up to dive deep into it. Not only did I win nicely in NFL last week, but also in PGA and European Tour DFS, so let’s keep this baby rolling. Last week’s success in the NFL was fueled by many the my core ending up as the top scoring players overall. Ingram, Cousins, Fitzgerald, Mckinnon, Fournette, Watson, Palmer, Brate, Thielen, and Martin were among the best. If only I could choose the correct defense this season. I swear I have won so much less than I could have if it hadn’t been for random defenses putting up amazing numbers. I mean c’mon the Saints scored 32 points? That is absurd. We will just keep plugging away, being profitable and eventually we will hit the big score.
Last week was a great example of capitalizing on “opportunity” as I have discussed in depth in previous articles this season. The pricing was released on Sunday and we saw how big of a part of the Vikings offense Mckinnon was going to be on Monday night and got him at $4,100 which was a screaming buy. Ingram was another example of opportunity when Adrian Peterson was traded to the Cardinals mid-week. AP was getting about 8 carries a game and Ingram was the obvious recipient of those additional carriers, not to mention more red zone carries as well. We need to continue to look for situations like this that present opportunities for us. They of course will have higher ownership, but we can try and be more contrarian with the other parts of our roster and just lock in the huge value where we can.
There are a couple of these situations already this week and a few more that we need to monitor up until kick-off on Sunday.
