Jeff’s Hardcore Core- NFL Week 17
Here we are Week 17 and it seems almost impossible that we have reached the final week of the NFL regular season already. For the fourth consecutive year, I had a profitable NFL season and for the second consecutive season it has been at least five figures. The main contributor was my $30,000 cash in the DK Live Final, but I also had some other nice GPP cashes, including on Monday/Christmas Day. I only put in one lineup (Yates, Bell, Ajayi, Schuster, Hopkins, Roberts, Ertz, Macdonald, and Eagles) into about a dozen contests including the $333. I was able to finish highly in all of those contests including 6th in the $333 for $5,000. This season I have actually done extremely well with the short slates. I have never really focused on them until this year and I am not sure exactly why I was so successful this year, but I will look back and do some analysis and try and find out what exactly I was doing to have been so consistently successful. If I can put my finger on it, I will be happy to share with all of you for next season.
Although the NFL season is coming to an end, thankfully we have golf just starting up again after a few week hiatus with the Tournament of Champions next week. I will not being doing any playoff football columns, because my focus will go back to the PGA starting next week. But for this week let’s crush NFL.
Week 17 of the NFL season is such a different animal than any other week during the course of the season. Many people do not like it because not every team has incentive to play their best players and at a high level, but I look at it as an opportunity. Team FGI is some of the most informed DFS players around and we know exactly what teams have something to play for and what teams do not. My column this week will feature a list of teams that need to win and we can expect their best efforts and those teams that we can expect to be going through the motions.
Best of luck this week Team FGI!
