Jeff’s Hardcore Core- NFL Week 11

Week 11 of the NFL season is upon us and last week was certainly a crazy one.  At about 2:45 I had entered the pissed off mood that snap into when things are going poorly in DFS and I am fixing to lose money.  All of a sudden everything around me is so irritating that I feel like Michael Douglas’s character in the movie Falling Down (if you have not seen that movie, I highly recommend it).  I pretty much lose my mind anytime I lose anything and have always been that way since I can remember.  Needless to say, I am a very poor loser.  The utterly horseshit efforts from Bilal Powell, Jordan Howard, Antonio Brown, and Cameron Brate in the early games had my personal temperature gauge running very hot and if one of my kid’s whined to me one more time, I might have knocked down some walls.  Then from what seemed like out of the sky, my teams that I left for dead starting climbing the standings.  By this time I wasn’t really watching the games, I had left the television on The Golf Channel and was picking up shit around the house.  Then I open up my contests and I have climbed even higher and actually near the pay line.  What in the world is happening?  Well a combination of heavy exposure to Jared Goff, Robert Woods, Sterling Shepard, and Evan Engram had somehow brought me back from the dead and pushed me well into the money by about 5:45.  Not only was it great performances from my core players in the afternoon games, but also absolute dud performances from a ton of other players, that allowed me to cash with such a mediocre final score.  I had one team in the $333 Wildcat GPP on Draftkings that easily cashed despite the fact it had Powell, Howard, and Brate on it.  I do not think I have ever seen anything like that.  It was incredible and proves that you are never dead, if you have guys left with minutes.

This week is going to be an interesting one because there are not a ton of amazing match-ups that jump out at you, like there have been so many weeks this season.  The pricing remains pretty tough, so we are going to have to keep working hard to find a winning core.  It has been an outstanding season so far for my weekly cores and I want to finish up the season with a bang.
