Week 10 is upon us and we will try and continue the really nice (and profitable) season we have been having thus far including last week.  I will dive into week 10 pricing, strategy, and my core, but let’s recap last week.

What went right?  A lot of things worked well last week, including identifying the vast majority of guys that went off.  It is much better in GPPs to have a core that contains most of the guys who go nuts throughout the league along with some guys that suck and do nothing, than it is to have nobody that goes off mixed with nobody that puts up a complete dud.  Everybody going 2X in large field GPPs is not going to accomplish our goal of winning a big one.  We certainly had some duds last week and I will talk about those in a minute, but like I said, we had exposure to most everybody who had monster weeks including  Drew Brees ( 34.44 DK pts), Jared Goff (33.31), Michael Thomas (42.1), Kareem Hunt (33.1), Alvin Kamara (33.6), Todd Kelce (28.9), O.J Howard (21.3), and the Bears defense (28).  You will see that many of these guys that smashed their price were in the Saints/Rams game.  Every GPP winner across the board had a game stack with that game and it further demonstrates how valuable game stacks are.  I talk in depth about the concept in my article 10 Essential Strategies to Make you a Winning Fantasy Football Player, that I wrote before the year began.  In a game that is so obviously going to be a shootout like that one, the game stack is really critical, which is why I owned so many players in that game.  We also had some guys who did not necessarily go off, but put up performances that were good enough to be complements to those guys that boomed.  Greg Olsen, Cooper Kupp, Russell Wilson, and Nick Chubb would all fall into that category.

What went wrong? Along with having huge performances we also had our share of complete busts.  Some of those included guys that I felt really good about and had great match-ups like D.J Moore, Mark Ingram, Tyrell Williams, Isaiah Crowell and the Cowboys and Broncos defense.  Others that I just took a shot on hoping they could outproduce their really low price tag, but did not, included Kyle Rudolph, David Moore, and Peyton Barber.   A couple of guys that I had small tertiary exposure to, but did not have in my main core that I regret not having more of included Duke Johnson and James Conner.

Overall another strong week and one that we will continue to build upon in this week 10 in which I believe there are some extremely strong plays and match-ups that we can exploit.

Good luck this week Team FGI!
