Jeff’s Hardcore Core- NFL Week 1

Anticipation for Week 1 of the NFL season is like no other in any sport.  We have been getting small tastes to try and satisfy our cravings over the past month, but a quarter or two from the guys we want to see leaves us unsatisfied.  Finally we will get four full quarters with the starters and we can be sweating each play for like 10 hours on Sunday.

As you would expect, the contest offering on Draftkings is enormous for week 1 at every buy-in level.  I always like week 1 for GPPs, although I stay a little light on cash games until week 2 or 3.  There is a lot of uncertainty about guys in week 1, which I enjoy and actually discuss in my 10 Essential Strategies to Make You a Winning Fantasy Football Player.  Many people do not believe anything can be taken from the preseason, but I complete disagree.  Although we did not see a ton from key players, you can get a feel for the type of game plan we can expect from certain coaches and which way they will be leaning toward with runningback situations.

Qualifiers for the Fantasy Football World Championship start up right away and I would encourage you to take a few shots this season.  Having qualified and attended last year, it is truly an amazing experience and any sweat for $2 million dollars gets your heart pumping.
