Jeff’s Hardcore Core- Maybank Championship (European Tour Package)

As I mentioned in my PGA Tour Hardcore Core article this week, DFS Golf is tough.  Whenever we can find a slight edge over the field, we need to capitalize on it.  Last week was one of those weeks on the European Tour.  As I do every Wednesday evening, I look at the most recent weather reports for both the EURO and PGA Tour.  What I found for Dubai was promising, as far as being able to stack tee times and gain an edge over people who did not.  The weather was predicted to have minimal winds for the Thursday morning wave of tee times, then winds were going to move in around noon and get into the 20-30 mph range.  Friday winds were expected to be even worse, but throughout the entire day.  It became apparent to me that I wanted Thursday morning players who would be guaranteed a full round of good conditions vs. most likely rough conditions for everybody else. This is where our Wednesday update email becomes so critical some weeks, as I can let you know of late breaking news while others are not paying attention and help as gain even more of an edge than we already have.

The scenario played out perfectly in that the Thursday morning guys posted some nice rounds (for the most part, there were still some duds) and the afternoon guys struggled in the tough winds.  What happened Friday was not something I planned on, but certainly helped our cause when the morning guys played and then they suspended action until Saturday morning.  So the Thursday a.m. guys that we stacked got nice conditions on Thursday and nice conditions for half of their second round as well.  I adjusted my Hardcore Core to reflect the additions on Wednesday evening like Sergio Garcia, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Jorge Campillo, Thomas Pieters, Danny Willett, etc.  I made different combinations of Thursday a.m tee times and entered as many contests as I could.  Overall I was up about $4,000.  I have heard from a lot of you who did the same so congratulations.

Unfortunately this type of scenario does not present itself all the time, although we can count on it several times throughout the year.  I encourage you to read the Wednesday email to see if there is any last minute news.  Some times there might not be anything, but those few times that there are could mean a significant edge on the field and allow you to make some serious money.
