Jeff’s Hardcore Core- Mayakoba Classic

The Mayakoba Classic is this week’s PGA Tour event after a rare week off last week.  The RSM Classic follows next week, then the Hero Classic, a brief holiday break and then we kick off the new calendar year with the Tournament of Champions the first week in January.

After several weeks of small field, no-cut action, we return to an almost full field (132 players) and a cut (remember it is Top 65 and ties now).

I am going to be incorporating the same thought process as I did last year for this event as it was one of the more successful ones of the year with 14 of 16 core players making the cut, 5 in the Top 10 including the Top 3 finishers.  I will discuss how I am going to be manipulating the FGI Model based on El Camaleon Golf Club, the host course this week and what types of players it caters to.
