Jeff’s Hardcore Core- John Deere Classic

One of the weaker fields you will  see for an event on the PGA Tour, the John Deere Classic is in the unfortunate position most every year of being the event before players head over to Europe for the Open Championship. Normally it is a DP World Tour event, but this year the Scottish Open, which will be held next week and is a PGA Tour event.  The field has not been released for that event, but I would guess most every top player in the world will be playing in it as they head over there early to prepare for The Open.  That leaves the John Deere Classic with everybody else.  The only Top #50 player in the world in this event, Daniel Berger already pulled out, leaving just Webb Simpson as the only real marquee name this week.  Despite the weak field strength, I find myself still a bit interested/excited about the event this week and I am not sure why.  Maybe it’s just because I am a glass half full type of person (nope that is not it).  Maybe it is the two vodka redbulls I have just consumed, maybe.  But I really think it is the fact that I feel good about being able to win some money this week. Results have been solid lately and last week was another good week for us as we had a ton of the leaderboard in my core, including almost half my teams with Xander.  It took an epic choke job by a few guys to ensure I only had a 5X week rather than a screenshot type of week.  The Rocket Mortgage and 3M are approaching and I always feel good about those.  As Zach has said many times before, our edge increases in weeks like this.  It may not be pretty, but we are in this for the $$, so let’s go get some this week.  Best of luck Team FGI!
