Jeff’s Hardcore Core- Hong Kong Open (European Package)

Last week my hardcore core for the Hero World Challenge absolutely crushed it, and I heard from many of you who did well and several of you who tied for 1st with me in the $4 Fore contest on Draftkings with the same lineup. We knew with only an 18 player field there would be overlap, so I will be happy with a $450 win on an $4 investment. As a sneak peak to my Crystal Ball 2017 article, I had already written up Hideki Matsuyama to be my player of the year, but I am afraid the cat is maybe out of the bag. Still I will continue to roster him quite a bit this season including in majors where we will still get a good price.

The Euro side of the Core was not so fortuitous as my strategy of stacking Schwartzel and Grace did not work. I really needed those two to be in the top five (which I thought they could be), but only Schwartzel lived up to his end of the bargain with a T4. It is too bad, because we had a few of the complimentary players do well including Storm (T4), Chris Hansen (T11), Burmester (T17), and Vander Walt (T32). Most of the other low priced guys missed the cut anyway so overall I am glad we went real small with our bankroll.

This week the only game in town is the Hong Kong Open, since the PGA is on holiday break. Don’t worry the Hawaii swing starts in a few weeks! After the playoff football is over, the golf comes on later at night, it makes for an outstanding DFS experience. This week there are some clear high ownership guys, a couple of which I like and the rest I will be fading to try and differentiate. There are several guys coming off the Challenger Tour that looked great last week that most people still are not familiar with and I like a few of them.

Finally, if you have not used our brand new lineup generator, you are missing out. It is a tremendous way for you to instantly build many lineups based upon the weightings you input. We have spent months trying to put this out, and we are extremely proud of it. As a matter of fact, it built my Hero World Challenge teams that tied for 1st last week in the $4 and took 3rd in the $300.

Best of luck this week my friends!
