Jeff’s Hardcore Core- Honda Classic
The change in the PGA schedule is interesting this year because the Honda Classic has typically been our lead in to the Florida swing. This year however it is closing out the Florida swing, before they head to Texas and then Augusta. Usually coming from Mexico and the California swing, it is more difficult to know what guys will thrive on smaller, narrower courses and of course bermuda greens. We have now had three weeks on such courses, so current form becomes more important this week than in past years at Honda. Similar to past years however, Honda does not get a very desirable place on the schedule sandwiched between The Players and WGC, thus we have an extremely weak field, which has become standard for this event. One item to note, many of you may have noticed that Draftkings has announced their Fantasy Golf World Championship and have started running qualifiers. Be sure to check out the summary of how it works at Draftkings, but it has not been announced yet whether there will be a live final component to it this year. In one of the best experiences I have had in this industry, the one and only live golf final in 2015 was an absolute blast. I am hoping they can find a way to make that happen this year and in future years.
Best of luck this week Team FGI!
