The Farmers Insurance Open this week is the first loaded field event of the year and it is on a really tough course in Torrey Pines (South). 156-player field, with a cut after the first two rounds (Top 65 and ties). Again we have a course rotation, but this time it is just two courses, South and North. Everybody will play each of the courses the first two days and then those that make the cut will play the South Course on Saturday and Sunday. Torrey is usually the closest we see to a major style course this early in the season. As a matter of fact, it will be hosting next years U.S Open (as well as next years Farmers). The rough is always long and difficult to escape and the South course is an absolute monster measuring 7,700 yards. It is no surprise that it is almost always an elite world talent that it takes to win this event (Rahm, Rose, Day, Woods, etc). It should be a fun week, so best of luck to all of you!
