Jeff’s Hardcore Core- CIMB Classic

Last week for the Safeway Open,  the Core had a really good, but not fantastic week. It was definitely good enough to fuel cashes in GPPs, and it did for many of you, but not good enough to capture a victory in a large-field event, which is ultimately what we try to accomplish. Job #1 is to identify the winner, and we did that with Brendan Steele, as well as get quality performances from Casey, Kirk, Na, Bradley, Gonzalez, and Castro. If we could have avoided some heartbreaking missed cuts like CHIII, Grayson Murray, and Jason Kokrak, we could have done better. We will keep working our ass off to get you the best information possible and put you in a position to have a big payday. Unfortunately this week, Draftkings decided to cut back their GPPs considerably, which is so disappointing as everything has filled easily for a long time now. With that reduction of size of contests, I am going to be doing opposite of what I did last week, which was include more guys in my core and reduce their weightings. This week, I am going to shrink the core down to about 12 guys so I am more concentrated, have higher weightings, and enter less teams. The top prizes are not big, so I do not want to enter many teams, but rather enter less teams with a tighter core. When the $3 GPP offers a $100,000 prize, I want as many shots at it, as my weekly GPP bankroll will allow. I am not going to enter 100 teams to try and take down this week’s $3,000 prize. I believe the small field this week is going to translate into people gravitating toward a lot of the higher priced guys. I really like a lot of the guys in the mid-priced range and I will be have more guys in that range than a stars and scrubs approach this week.
