Jeff’s Hardcore Core- BMW Championship

Our long stretch of strong, winning weeks for the PGA came to a screeching halt last week at The Deutsche Bank.  Obviously not having Rory (winner) or Paul Casey (runner-up), left us zero chance of cashing big in a large field GPP.  The Hardcore Core for the European Tour event absolutely crushed it, so I hope you folks were able to equal out.  There was a lot of randomness last week at Deutsche Bank, and every once and while we are going to have baffling outcomes.  That is why we stress so much to stay disciplined with your bankroll.  Even after a month of being on a roll, a week like that can jump up and if you bet it all, can be cleaned out.  The reason I think things went so poorly is the conditions were so much different than they usually are at TPC Boston.  The rough was much much shorter than it always is, they put a ton of water on the greens, keeping them soft and slow, as opposed to much quicker.  Unfortunately, I think these things played a huge role and allowed for a lot of randomness to take place (ex: Hahn, Kaufman, Gomez, etc.).

We will press on this week for the BMW Championship, and get back on to our winning ways in GPPS.  Remember we have a smaller field this week (70) and this is a no-cut event, so we will be factoring that into our selections.  2012 is the only tournament history we have to analyze and it appears bombers will have an edge, especially if the ground is wet/soft as predicted and the 7,500+ length of Crooked Stick.
