Jeff’s Hardcore Core- BMW Championship
Before we dive into this week’s BMW Championship, I just wanted to continue the celebration for our boy Will Zalatoris who got his first win last week. I have been touting Will since I first watched him in 2019. I knew he was a star and this year he is showing it and now has moved to #9 in the world! He has had a lot of close calls, but not able to notch a win. To say it has been frustrating would be an understatement. In situations like this when we are positively sure multiple wins are coming in a player’s future, we need to just keep betting him no matter how frustrating it is. I wish we had a bit longer than 28-1 odds, but as I said in our betting column, TPC Southwind is the “perfect” course for Zalatoris. I watched him play in person there last year and it solidified it in my mind that this was the year. It was my biggest outright of the year ($13k) and I had him all over in DFS, so it was a huge week overall. My only wish is that I were in Vegas to have told them to print me Will tickets until they run out of paper. I have heard from some of Team FGI who continued to go back to Willy and hopefully all of you benefitted either with an outright or in DFS. Congrats to those that did.
Now, onto this week’s event, the BMW Championship, which is the second leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. The Top 70 players in the standings will be playing this week in a no-cut event at a course (Wilmington Country Club), that has not been played on tour before. I talk about some of the characteristics of the course, what type of player we are looking for, and some comparison courses to help guide us in our selections. Best of luck this week Team FGI!

As most of you are well aware, the NFL season is right around the corner which means that Jeff and I are preparing to kickoff our fourth season with our site, Football Insider Edge!
