Jeff’s GPP Hardcore Core- RBC Heritage

The last thing I want to do is jinx a hot streak, but damn let’s keep this thing rolling. I heard from a ton of you who cashed in GPPs last week following the Hardcore Core, so congrats to all of you. Overall it was outstanding, with the exception of not having runner-up Jordan Spieth. In retrospect, it looks like a no-brainer, especially when you consider he was owned by less than 10%. I apologize for leaving him out as it probably cost you even higher finishes than you had. Other than that, I did have the champion Danny Willett along with huge low-priced guys who far outproduced their price-tag like Smylie Kaufman, Daniel Berger, Bryson DeChambeau, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Jamie Donaldson, Rafa Cabrera Bella, and Charley Hoffman. Most of you that I heard from had a nice combination of these guys to compliment your studs. Unfortunately Rickie Folwer and Bubba Watson laid an egg and cost too many of my otherwise amazing rosters. Those that I had with Day and Rory did extremely well.

This week we have The RBC Heritage, which is a small-ball players course. Staying on the fairways and out of the treeline is critical and the small greens will require an accurate approach game. Since it is such a unique course I will be leaning a lot on tournament history, which I have heard others in the industry say is worthless. Honestly that argument could not be any more off base especially this week. Also, take a look at the results at Copperhead (Valspar) over the past 8 years, because the course sets up similarly and those who have had success there generally do at Harbour Town as well. I will be far underweight Jason Day this week, mostly because I think he is going to be owned by about a third of the field.  I like Day and obviously he is an elite talent, and by far the best player in this field, but the opportunity to shave off 30% of the field is very appetizing if he were to falter this week. There are some great GPPs this week on Draftkings, including the $3 GPP with $100,000 first prize. I love doing a lot of lineups built around a tight core to maximize value and hopefully hit just the perfect team and get a six figure cash like several other FGI members have had in the past. Best of luck this week my friends!
