Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Trophee Hassan II (European Tour Package)
OVERVIEW
This week the Euro Tour heads to Morocco where the fairways are kikuyu (think South African players/those who have had success during the South African swing) and the greens are a mix of pencross and poa annua. The course is long, so driving distance will be somewhat important, but accurate players off the tee should be your main focus this week as many of the holes have tree lined fairways and the green speeds are a bit faster here than in most Euro events typically running over 11’ on the stimp meter. The course primarily sets up well for ball strikers and not so much for bombers. Since 2010, the longest hitter to contend for the championship is Louis Oosthuizen, and that was in 2010. Guys like Ramsay, Sullivan, Wattel and Dunne don’t smash it off the tee, but can get hot with their putting while continuously sticking it close on approaches so we’ll rely heavily on that statistical profile this week.
