Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- The Northern Trust

OVERVIEW

Week 1 of the FedEx Cup Playoffs is here as we head north east to TPC Boston for the Northern Trust. TPC Boston has hosted playoff events in the past (most notably the Dell Technologies) and past champions include Bryson Dechambeau -16 over Justin Rose in 2018, Justin Thomas -17 over Jordan Spieth in 2017, Rory McIlroy -15 over Paul Casey in 2016 and Rickie Fowler -15 over Henrik Stenson in 2015. Most of these players have one thing in common – great ball striking. We’ve seen what Paul Casey can do when his putter is working (TPC Harding Park) and the rest of this list is a who’s who of ball strikers and drivers of the ball (yes, even Spieth was in this category back in 2017). We’ll be targeting the best of the best in ball striking / approaches this week (as usual). The playoffs brings a major-ish type of mentality to these fields, meaning the cream rises to the top. The last 15 playoff event winners are as follows: Reed (2x), JT (2x), Rory (3x), Bryson (2x), DJ (2x), Xander, Tiger, Leishman and Keegan Bradley. All of them are good to elite ball strikers who caught a good weekend with the putter.
