Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- The Memorial Tournament
OVERVIEW
We did it again! We hit the 5th outright winner this season last week in Collin Morikawa and wouldn’t you know it, my top two plays last week finished 1st & 2nd. We also had Patrick Cantlay (who stormed the leaderboard early Sunday morning), a surging Rickie Fowler (who took a step back on Sunday), and hit only one value play in Kevin Streelman (T7). I’m not sure how much the predicted forecast had in playing a part for some players who didn’t get off to the best start, but I’d like to think that some of these guys mailed it in on Friday with the delays. This week we have an oddity in that the Tour isn’t moving venues but will be playing the same course again for the 2nd straight week. The course setup should be slightly different from last week, tees and pins will be in the usual locations that the players are used to and the greens should be firm and fast. The field is a bit stronger this week with Bryson, Rory, Tiger and DJ teeing it up with the likes of the majority of who played last week. This is an invitational, so the field is limited, but with a limited field we get a stronger field and softer pricing from a DFS perspective. If you watched any of last week’s event, you now know how important the second shot is at Muirfield Village, thus we’ll be heavily targeting those who are strong in their approach game.
