OVERVIEW

The South African Open returns to the European Tour schedule this year and we do so early on after 2018’s versions which saw one edition early in the season and one late. There have been other events held at the Randpark courses over the years as well as some other South African events having some corollary courses to what they’ll be playing this week (Tshwane Open & Nedbank Challenge). The courses feature heavy doses of bunkering. Being in South Africa we also get to deal with being above sea level (~5,700 ft above) which means the ball will be traveling further than usual. Luckily for us, most of the field consists of native South Africans, and I encourage you to build your lineups heavily on South African born players, as they’re most familiar with the terrain and how to adjust their distances. As usual, EURO is such a rollercoaster when it comes to who makes the cut and who doesn’t, so I encourage you all to play your cash lineups in GPPs as there’s always potential for a big payday.
