Welcome to the Week 5 of the Golf Calendar Year!

How did YOU do last week? I will be the first to admit that there was nothing great about what I tossed up last week for your reading pleasure. The first round featured a bit of a scoring fest to the likes I did not foresee coming. Round 2 displayed high winds and dialed up high scores that you made you think you were at “The Open”. Rounds 3 and 4 were a little more normalized with unique pin placements. It was just a complete hodgepodge of everything. The tournament suits some golfers well and there are others that I do not expect to return next year. I am looking forward to the tweaks that they make to the course during the offseason and improvements made to the pins themselves. I have put in the extra time to hopefully flip the script this week. However, before we get there…

Congrats to Thomas Pieters on a lovely win! I know a couple of people that had backed him, and he made sense in hindsight. He was one of the last ones off my board and I spent the last 48 hours kicking myself for the borderline bonehead move. The classy names you expected to be up there on the leaderboard at tourney’s end, were in fact, there.

Congrats to Hudson Swafford on getting the job done at the American Express! Saw lots of tickets posted on Twitter so I know he was a popular choice at odds from 150/1 to 250/1 from what I saw. There were definite angles in getting to him, so if you found them, I say congrats to you. My favorite clip of the week might have been the clip from Jon Rahm talking about it being a putting contest. That sums up my thoughts on it. I would be remiss if I did not point out the course bias between LQ/NT/SC. Granted, I do believe better golfers played LQ and NT, first, but the extreme SG discrepancy between the rotations was rather wild in my estimation. I did, however, follow the lead and advice of the team and made sure to play to the biases in my showdown lineups and negated losses. Here is hoping you were able to make money that way as well.

Stateside this week, the crew heads to the Farmers. Do you North/South or do you South/North? Or do you say the heck with it and play your guys? What type of guys do you hunt for? These things and many more to be expertly covered as usual in this week’s written offerings, I have no doubt. I am most eager to listen to the pod as the crew is on-site this week, so I am sure there will have an extra nugget or two to throw out way for regular and showdowns lines throughout the week. Listen up early and stay involved in the slack throughout the week!

Ready to head on the Road to Dubai? (Moments like this I wish there had been a Hope/Crosby “Road” movie for Dubai)
