Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Shell Houston Open
OVERVIEW
Even though many compare this course’s traits to that of Augusta, success at one or the other doesn’t necessarily translate as only two winners of the Shell Houston Open (SHO) have placed in the Top 15 the following week – Anthony Kim (destroyer of hearts) and Hunter Mahan (destroyer of worms). The field is a bit stronger than what we saw last week in Puerto Rico. Okay, it’s much, much stronger, but with stronger fields we tend to get more value in the middle range of golfers which can make some decisions a bit more difficult. Last year Jim Herman (value play) shocked the world holding off a charging Henrik Stenson and a less than enthused Dustin Johnson to capture his first PGA Tour victory. Will we see another first timer win this week, or will the chalk continue to dominate the season? One thing’s for sure, we need to adapt to the environment instead of waiting for it to adapt to what we’re accustomed to.
