Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Scottish Open (European Tour Package)
OVERVIEW
Before we get into this week’s plays I’d like to take a minute to pat myself on the back for absolutely destroying last week. Not only did we have the winner in Knox, but also runner-up Fox, 3rd place Campillo, 4th place Rahm and 6th place Olesen & Sullivan. That’s the first time I’ve ever dialed in six players in the Top 10, especially on a course we had no history on and I hope you all profited because of it. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get into this week’s Scottish Open at two of the three courses at Gullane held in East Lothian, Scotland. The course is very undulating off the tee, which means players will need to control their distances if they’re attempting to hit to specific yardages. On top of the undulations, the superintendent plans on drying out the course to make it run hard and fast. The greens are small, which will put an emphasis on scrambling this week (when looking back at the leaderboard from 2015, five players within two shots of Rickie were in the Top 10 in scrambling for the week. Finally, we have the narrative street stat of the week. Six of the last eight Open winners have played in the Scottish Open the week prior – so there’s a strong probability of someone in the field winning next week – if you believe in that kind of thing.
