Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Sanderson Farms Championship

OVERVIEW

Golf in the US this week will be held in Jackson, Mississippi at the Country Club of Jackson, Mississippi (creative name). There are a few types of players that stand out to be successful at CC of JM, one of them being a very good putter as past champions Gribble and Malnati putted their ways to victory the last two years. Then again, when looking at the runners up of those events, Luke List, Greg Owen and William McGirt don’t come across as strong putters, which means the ball striking narrative continues to grow. This week I’d look to build teams with a solid core of strong putters and rotate the ball striking players as opposed to how I typically do it (4 ball strikers, 2 putters/bombers depending on the course). As far as corollary courses go, there’s aren’t’ many that fit the exact bill, but I’ve seen some similar characteristics between the Puerto Rico Open and the OHL at Mayakoba, so those would be the two course comps I’d be using this week, and you’ll notice that some of the suggestions below overlap with success at those events.
