Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview-Puerto Rico Open
OVERVIEW
Puerto Rico and the PGA Tour have had a relationship now for the better part of the late 2000’s and while we’ve seen some of today’s stars win this event before they were stars, it’s usually been guys who are grinding out enough to pay their way to the next event (sound familiar Daniel Berger?). The event itself takes a backseat as it runs parallel with a WGC event so the field is pretty weak when you consider who isn’t here and the last thing up & coming European Tour players want to do is come to Puerto Rico to play in an event that hasn’t been very predictable over the years. The course is pretty long at just over 7,500 yards, it should play pretty easy as its setup like a resort course and one that should be showcasing young talent on the PGA Tour, but the weather hasn’t been too kind to this event in the past making it a bit harder than you’d think. If you’re playing DFS or betting this event this week, make sure you’re paying close attention to the weather as I think the draws will be important for this one. One last note, I’ve removed the stats from this article because A: These guys suck and if they actually have stats from last year, they aren’t going to help you at all. B: A lot of them didn’t qualify for 2018 stats because they either didn’t play enough or weren’t on the PGA Tour.
