Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Open de Portugal (Euro Tour-Pro Pack Members)
OVERVIEW
Well well well, we got a European Tour winner last week in George Coetzee at a modest 16/1. Hitting winners feels good and always brings confidence to the process. Let’s look to capitalize on last week’s success and carry that over to this week. This isn’t a new event however, it will be the first time Royal Obidos will host since 2010 so we don’t have any no course history to go off of that would be relevant. That hasn’t been an issue for us this season as there have been some of these types of tournament since the COVID pandemic flipped our world upside down. The other item to note this week is that this event runs opposite of the US Open. Mostly every European Tour player worth talking about is in that field, not this one. There are some players we should look to key in on, but from a betting perspective it might be best to stay away from pre-tournament outrights. The biggest takeaways I have from “seeing” this course is that it’s long at 7,234 yards. The front 9 has three Par 5’s, and three Par 3’s. None of which are extremely long, although the Par 5 2nd hole can play over 600 yards. Scattered showers are expected Thursday through Saturday, and winds are expected to be 10-20mph all week. So, it sounds like a good week to go light on the Euro DFS & betting opportunities and maybe focus just on the US Open side of things.
