Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Open de France (European Tour Package)
Overview
Since 2007, Marcel Siem is the only defending champion to miss the cut in his *first title defense year (*- GMAC won back to back years in 2013 & 14, then missed the cut in his 2nd defense year, 2015).
During that same period, Martin Kaymer is the only player to miss the cut the year before winning.
Defending champions have fared well since 2009: Kaymer backed up his win with a 6th place finish, GMAC repeated, Wiesberger finished 11th last year, and even Graeme Storm finished 21st the year after winning.
Thongchai Jaidee & Martin Kaymer are the only players in the field this week to record three consecutive Top 10’s in a row. Kaymer can add another streak to that list this week with a Top 10, and Jaidee can become the only player to record four consecutive and if he wins, he’d be the 2nd player to win this event in back to back years.
