Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Omega Dubai (Euro Tour- Pro Pack Members)

OVERVIEW

The European Tour stays in the desert for another week as we head to Dubai for the Dubai Desert Classic. The biggest item to note this week is the dramatic change in field strength as many of the “big-boys” have headed to the States as we gear up for some big tournaments on the PGA Tour as well as the looming WGC event. That being said, there’s still a quality field in front of us headlined by Tommy Fleetwood and Collin Morikawa. With play staying in the desert we can gleam a bit from how some of the field did last week on similar terrain as this is still a “desert links” style course and with most of the heavy hitters gone I think we can focus more on the top of the board when it comes to outright betting and hope to hit some value plays through the cut when it comes to our DFS lineups. With this tournament comes the Dubai – Masters correlation conversation, which hasn’t rung true for two years now. However, we have seen the winners of this event place well during the Masters if they didn’t win, so I guess there’s that. The correlation is more in the layout of the course than anything else as there are many right to left shots off the tee, which is also how Augusta was designed. Par 5 scoring is a deciding factor in the winning score here over the years, aside from that it’s all about hitting greens so let’s focus primarily on strong ball strikers when building our cards / lineups.
