Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Maybank Championship (European Tour Package)

OVERVIEW

With the European Tour shifting their schedule a bit, we head to Malaysia this week for the Maybank. The course features small greens (+1 for ball strikers), palm trees (resort course with an edge) and should host plenty of birdies to this group of golfers. Driving distance isn’t a necessity as last year’s Top 10 only featured two golfers with the moniker of being a bomber (Wiesberger, Haotong), but with the generous fairways and rough, it appears anyone can get around well. Scrambling was a decisive factor as Zanotti (1^st), Lipsky (2^nd), Levy (4^th), and Li (5^th) and Willett (6^th) all were in the Top 6 in scrambling last year. Normally in a field like this I’d lean on the names we trust, but this year I’m focusing more on Asian players as there are plenty more to choose from and we should see a drastic reduction in their ownership in tournaments.
