Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Maybank Championship (European Package)

OVERVIEW
This year’s championship takes place at a different course from last year, so we’re leaning on course flyovers and very little actual detail regarding what kind of players will have success here. The course features four Par 5’s, one of which exceeds 600 yards and all of the par 3’s are over 190 yards so targeting players with strong long iron games should be something to keep in the back of your mind when making 2v2 or 1v1 lineup decisions as they could prove to be the difference makers come Friday & Sunday. With only one Par 4 measuring over 450 yards, we’ll need to make sure we’re leaning on the best of the best Par 4 scorers as well. There’s no relevant course history to look at, so I’ve removed it from the article this week altogether. That portion will be back next week when there’s something to list.

• Par: 72
• Yardage: 7,186 yards
• Greens: Bermuda
o Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
o Expected scoring: Weather is supposed to be very hot with temps in the 90’s (wouldn’t that be nice?) and winds should be low, so we don’t have to target a certain flight of tee times this week. Looking at the course, the players should feast on the Par 4’s and 5’s hoping to stay at par or better on the Par 3’s. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the winner around -20 or better this week.
