Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Mayakoba Classic

OVERVIEW
Aside from Pat Perez, the winners of this event haven’t exactly been who we’d think would win a weak field event in Mexico. Fred Funk, Brian Gay, & Johnson Wagner have all won this event. Steve Marino, Brian Stuard (twice), Spencer Levin, Robert Allenby and Shawn Stefani have all come runner-up in this event in the past, none of them are bombers and quite simply put, probably putted their butts off to victory (or almost victory). That to me says we need to target someone who’s a strong putter, or someone who’s stats indicate their trending upwards with the flat stick this week. Aside from picking winners who are probably priced between $7,000 & $8,000, I think it’s fair to lean on guys like Rickie, Finau and Woodland in GPPs as they’ve shown a propensity to do what’s expected of them in weak field events in the past as well as last week at the Shriners (sans Finau who didn’t come close to paying off his high salary).
