Welcome to the Week 36 of the Golf Calendar Year!
Congrats to Jeff, Zach, and Erik for nailing the trifecta in all having outright bets on Patrick Cantlay! I guarantee they are all 3 chomping at the bit to duplicate the feat this week, so be sure to check out the Weekly Betting Picks article to see who everyone lands on.
With playoffs in 7 of the last 11 tournaments, I believe that might have been my personal favorite (surpassing the 6-man group at the Wyndham) and ranks up there as one of the better tourneys of the year, even considering the crazy birdie fest leading up to the playoff.
Not to be outdone, across the pond, there was drama on the 18th at Crans-sur-Sierre that opened the door for Rasmus Hojgaard to grab a win. I wouldn’t say that he stole it after shooting a flawless 63, but I don’t believe anybody thought that he’d get the win with Wiesberger coming to 18 with a 1 shot lead. Such is golf and that’s why we love to watch. Congrats to Rasmus on his 3rd career win – all coming in his last 36 starts!
And we still have another tremendous week of golf on both tours.
The Tour Championship is always a nice event to close things before the fall swing begins. As always, I am sure Jeff and Zach will cover in depth and clue us in to a few things to watch out for and angles to consider, so be sure to check out all their offerings. I am probably most excited about the Italian Open. Why?
