Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Italian Open (Euro Tour-Pro Pack Members)

OVERVIEW

We had a bunch of guys in the mix last week but couldn’t find the win in Otaegui so congrats to those who were able to sniff that out coming off a missed cut in his last event and really not showing any signs of life in the past three months. Otaegui is one of those statistical wonders who always seems to pop up in models, but rarely closes (like the Hideki Matsuyama’s of the world). This week we move our attention to Italy for this year’s installment of the Italian Open. The event lost its Rolex Series spot, so the field strength isn’t what it used to be, so we’ll need to dive deep to find some gems. Chervo Golf Club is a parkland style course which is listed at 7,434 yards and a par 72. It’s a parkland-resort course, so don’t go too far off into the weeds on parkland style players this week as it should be setup quite fair for low scores. As with most resort courses we’ll see wide fairways and large greens and should give up plenty of birdies. It’s a fairly wide-open course compared to Italian Open’s of the past, lending even more in the way of a high scoring event on the horizon.
