OVERVIEW

First things first, I’m not thrilled with this event from a DFS perspective. The event is played on two different courses and not only are the men playing, but there’s also a women’s event going on during the same time and actually they have the different groups alternating throughout the tee times. The field is less than desirable as well as this is a crossover event with players from the European Tour and the Australasian Tour, which throws another wrench into the mix. What you may not know is the cut rules. Both Men & Women will play their opening 36 holes, at which point the field will be cut down to Top 60 & ties. Another 18 holes will be played, and another cut will be made down to the Top 35. Outside of that it’s business as usual from our perspectives on the Euro Tour. The Beach course is links-esque with undulating fairways (this is the primary course played on the weekend) and the Creek course is more parkland-esque. Both courses are susceptible to winds affecting play and the rough is expected to be up again this year. As usual we’ll want to target strong ball strikers who can scramble, as much as we can considering a lot of these players have no European Tour stats as they’re primarily based on the Australasian Tour. This is a good week to bet on the European Tour, but not an ideal one to play DFS – in my opinion.
