OVERVIEW

This week we have the European Tour’s version of Torrey Pines as we head to Australia for the ISPS Vic Mens Open at the 13th Beach Golf Links Beach and Creek Course. There are two courses in play this week just like the North & South courses at Torrey, the Beach course is more of a links course with undulating fairways whereas the Creek course is more of a public style, parkland course. Both courses are exposed to the wind, so managing your game in windy conditions will be important. Luckily for most of the field they’re primarily from the area and have grown up playing in such conditions. The rough can get pretty gnarly, so accuracy off the tee will be a bit important even on these large undulating fairways. If you’re not hitting the greens in regulation, you have to scramble well or you’re going to get lapped. Focus primarily on strong ball strikers this week and if you need a tiebreaker between two or three players, lean on driving accuracy since both courses are short. DK contests suck this week again, so the writeup is focused primarily on guys I’d look at taking a stand on, unfortunately, most of them are expensive so I threw in some guys I liked, but not enough to include a blurb on, so take that for what it’s worth.
