Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Honda Classic
OVERVIEW
We leave the poa greens for Bermuda this week as we head to PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Last year we saw Rickie Fowler’s strong tee to green game and putting at its finest and if I recall correctly, he wasn’t very highly owned. That won’t be the case this year as he’s the tournament favorite and has been mega chalk week in and week out since the end of last season. The last few weeks on tour have been a bit odd with the obvious chalk plays either missing the cut or not reaching expectations (Ollie & DJ last week, Patrick Reed at Pebble, Rahm at Farmers, etc.). Adjusting to things like ownership is a struggle for me as I’m a bit hard headed on my strong plays vs not as strong plays and ultimately would’ve had a great 6/6 lineup had I moved off of mega chalk Ollie for semi less chalky Chappell. Oh well – lose and learn I say! This week the winds will be up (as they usually are) and a lot of players will be dunking balls in the water, specifically on the three-hole stretch called THE BEAR TRAP. Good players can eject without notice, so I think even having a strong 5/6 team this week could mean a good week is in store.
