Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Hero World Challenge
OVERVIEW
The final-final week of PGA Tour golf is this week as we head to the Bahamas for the 18-man field where real-life OWGR points are awarded… I still don’t understand that but whatever, it’s pointless to get worked up about something as frivolous as a golf tournament. Of the 18 players in the field, three of them have won this event since the venue change in 2015 (Rahm – defending champion, Rickie – 2017 winner, and Bubba – 2015 winner). Rahm is probably the one guy I would continue to go all in on this week. Rickie is priced as a value play, so he’ll be chalky, but he may be good chalk as he’s finished inside the Top 5 (of 18) in all four appearances here. The course is a cakewalk as long as the wind doesn’t blow. It’s flat, wide fairways, and features five Par 5’s and five Par 3’s. Players who don’t play well usually do so by getting in their own way. Even Tiger played well here for 54 holes three years ago and ended up coming 3rd to last (that was the year of his return to golf). If you’re going to play DFS this week, don’t bother with cash games. Try MME, play for fun, or don’t play at all. If DFS “tilts” you to no end, this is not the week to be trying to recoup your season’s losses.
